Live from the jungles of Mexico, the adventures of Bill

Update: February 21, 2006

The Festival
After quite a lot of preparation, on December 21, 2005 Pueblo SacBe presented the first of an ongoing series of events in our new amphitheater with the Pueblo SacBe Solstice Festival. The music and the arts were fantastic. This will be followed by quarterly events to celebrate the Solstices and Equinoxes, as well as many others as opportunities present themselves. Here are some pictures of the festival

The Weather
From the Solstice until the middle of February the weather was cooler than usual, with night temperatures as low as 57F, and many overcast rainy days. Wow, two months with a blanket on the bed. I'm glad I wasn't here for my two week vacation! But now we're back to the pleasant warm days that are the attraction here, and the beach is much more appealing again.

My Village Property
My current landscaping work, with the help of a wonderful family from Chiapas, has been the addition of some contour walls going up the slope to support stepped planting areas:

Next come two small streams cascading into the cenote pool at the bottom, then its time to focus on planting exotic fruit trees, other edibles, and ornamentals.

Well, that's really all the news for now. Take care, and write soon. Or better yet, come down for a visit!
